From Riverview Kennels to Riverview Pet Lodge
Why the Name Changed — And What It Means for the Future
Since 1990, many people in our community have known us as Riverview Kennels.
And while we’re incredibly grateful for the trust and support connected to that name, we realized something over time:
The experience we were building had outgrown the word “kennels.”
Over the last several years, we’ve worked intentionally to create something more than basic pet boarding. We’ve upgraded the facility, improved safety and cleanliness standards, expanded enrichment opportunities, strengthened staff training, and created more personalized experiences for the pets in our care.
We wrote a blog at the 15-month mark and at the 3-year mark.
Over time, the vision evolved.
And eventually, we realized the name needed to evolve, too.
That’s why we are excited to officially introduce:
Riverview Pet Lodge
The word “Lodge” better reflects the kind of experience we want pets and owners to have when they walk through our doors:
Comfortable
Safe
Engaging
Professional
Personalized
Intentional
This isn’t a sudden change.
It’s the culmination of years of steady improvement and vision-building.
It reflects the upgraded facility, the enrichment activities, the forest walks, the individualized care, the retail and nutrition focus, and the incredible team that helps make all of it possible.
And now, we’re excited to officially celebrate this next chapter with the community.

On Wednesday, July 15, from 5–8 pm, we’ll be hosting our official Ribbon Cutting & Chamber Mixer.
